The Shire President and Deputy President are elected by the Council.

Agenda Report Numbering

  • Sequential numbering per department, followed by the month and the year eg. for the second report in Corporate & Community for the July 2020 Council Meeting, the report number would be CC02-07/20

Author & Responsible Officer

  • First initial and surname, followed by position eg. D Chandler, Governance & Executive Officer
  • The Responsible Officer is usually the direct line manager of the author: first intial and surname, followed by position eg. S Ivers, Chief Executive Officer

File Reference

  • Please look up the correct file reference in Altus ECM, through Folder Management. 

Background

  • This is where you tell the ‘story’ of the agenda item and set the scene for the reader. 

Officer’s Comment

  • This is where you introduce the new concept and reasons for your recommendation. 

Strategic Implications

  • Every Council decision must align with a strategy in the Shire of Irwin Strategic Community Plan. 
  • Include in your report any relevant strategies by stating the strategy number and the strategy itself.

Officer Recommendation

  • This statement will become Council’s decision which is legally binding. Therefore it must be clear and not open to interpretation. 
  • Refer to the DLGSC’s Guideline: Clarity in Council Motions, for further guidance.
